Finally, Kaguya-Hime turned down everyone’s proposals. Then, she began to gaze at the moon every night with tears in her eyes. When the old man asked her what was the matter, she said “To tell the truth, I was born on the moon. I must return there on the night of the next full moon. “ “That’s nonsense,” he said.
On that day, Kaguya-Hime was hidden in the back and many armed soldiers guarded her. He never hoped she would return to the moon. However, when the moon was appearing over the mountain, and after shining brightly from the moon, the soldiers lost their strength and fell asleep. Kaguya-Hime bid a sad farewell to the old man and his wife and gave an elixir of immortality as a parting gift. Then she returned to the moon with angels who came from the moon. The old man and his wife were doing nothing but watch her departure.
