Sound that passes through space and time

I like old things. I think something that has existed for a long time has its own value and reason.

 Among musical instruments, particularly percussion instruments are some of the oldest and seem to have existed since ancient times.

Haniwa, Clay images with drums have been excavated from the remains of the Kofun period (around A.C.6). It seems that drums were also used to convey information and signal at war .

After that, music performed for the gods and in the scenes of performing arts such as Noh and Kabuki can be found. Various Japanese musical instruments such as drums and flutes are now being played.

Trough the music, you can still experience the sound and rhythm played by ancient people. It’s wonderful to be able to pass through space and time with music.

It’s one of the real pleasures of playing a Japanese musical instrument that you can experience history.
