Shinobue "Kunpu(薫風)", rattan wrapped design(the one degree)| P-B-K1-1
This shinobue scale is characterized by a thick, powerful tone with strong presence.
It features a wide finger spacing and requires a larger amount of breath, offering a dynamic and expressive playing experience.
Although bamboo is naturally prone to cracking, this flute is reinforced using vacuum resin impregnation technology, enhancing durability and long-term stability.
From careful bamboo selection and drying to finger hole drilling, rattan binding, and precise tuning, every step of the process is carefully performed by hand.
Made in Japan, this handcrafted Japanese bamboo flute is trusted by experienced musicians for serious practice and performance.
Creator

Kaoru Shimura
Lives and works in Kanagawa Prefecture.
At the age of 30, Kaoru Shimura started playing the shinobue because he likes mountain climbing and wanted to have a hobby that he could do even at the top of a mountain. Bamboo is a material that tends to crack when it dries out, but he decided that he wanted to play it anytime, anywhere, which led him to research and develop the reinforced flute. He plays shinobue as a member of a local musical instrument preservation society.
What is "Vacuum Resin Impregnation Technology"?
The shinobue is placed entirely immersed in the resin tank in a vacuum chamber, and the air is rapidly removed with a vacuum pump and left in place for approximately 8 hours. It is then removed from the chamber and the resin is cured.
