What is the Funagira Model？
The Funagira Model is a handcrafted shakuhachi created by Keiji Funagira, drawing on his many years of experience repairing and adjusting shakuhachi.
Through working on thousands of instruments, from antique to modern shakuhachi, Funagira has developed extensive knowledge and techniques for shaping and adjusting the instrument's inner bore.
One of the defining features of the Funagira Model is that each shakuhachi is carefully adjusted to suit the individual player, whether professional or amateur, rather than simply being made to a standardized specification.
Each instrument reflects Funagira's years of experience and dedication to creating a shakuhachi that responds to the needs of the individual player.
Creator
Keiji Funagira
Keiji Funagira began playing the shakuhachi as a teenager after discovering one at his grandparents' home.
He later studied under Reibo Aoki, a Living National Treasure, and continued his training to become a certified shakuhachi instructor.
Alongside his experience as a player, Funagira has repaired and adjusted thousands of shakuhachi, ranging from antique instruments to modern ones. Through this work, he has developed extensive knowledge of the instrument's inner bore and refined his own techniques for improving its playability and performance.
His ability to adjust each shakuhachi to suit the individual player, whether professional or amateur, is highly regarded. Today, he is also recognized for his expertise as a shakuhachi adjustment specialist.

Production time varies by instrument but typically ranges from a few weeks to several months.
5. Final Confirmation
Please check the work with a photo.
6. Payment
Please pay the remaining balance after deducting the deposit from the total amount.
